Our commitment to fair and transparent refunds

1. Overview
SkillBuddy holds client payments in secure escrow until a job is successfully completed and confirmed. This policy explains exactly when, how, and under what conditions refunds are issued on our platform.
Our escrow system is designed to protect both clients and workers. Funds are only released when both parties are satisfied with the outcome.
2. Eligible for Full Refund
You are entitled to a full refund if:
- The worker does not show up for the scheduled job
- The worker cancels the job after payment has been locked in escrow
- The job cannot be started due to the worker's fault or unavailability
- A refund request is submitted before the worker has started any work
- The worker is found to have misrepresented their skills or qualifications
3. Eligible for Partial Refund
A partial refund may be issued if:
- Work is only partially completed and both parties mutually agree on a reduced payment
- Admin investigation determines shared fault between client and worker
- The job scope was reduced during the service with client agreement
4. Not Eligible for Refund
No refund will be issued if:
- The client has already entered the job completion OTP — this confirms job completion
- The job was completed as described in the original job post
- The client changes their mind after the worker has started work
- The cancellation was initiated by the client after work began without valid reason
- The complaint is filed more than 48 hours after job completion
- Platform service fee (10%) on any completed transaction
5. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, follow these steps:
- Open the SkillBuddy app
- Navigate to the relevant job in your job history
- Tap "File Dispute"
- Describe the issue clearly and attach supporting evidence (photos, screenshots, messages)
- Submit your dispute — our team will respond within 24–48 hours

6. Dispute Review Process
- Our admin team reviews all evidence submitted by both parties
- We may contact both the client and worker for additional information
- A decision will be made within 3–5 business days
- Admin decisions are final and binding on both parties
7. Refund Processing Time
- JazzCash: 3–5 business days after approval
- EasyPaisa: 3–5 business days after approval
Refunds are processed to the same payment method used for the original transaction.
8. Worker Cancellations
If a worker cancels a confirmed job:
- The client receives a full automatic refund
- The worker's account may receive a cancellation penalty
- Repeated cancellations may result in account suspension
9. Platform Fee
The 10% SkillBuddy platform service fee is non-refundable once a job has been completed or partially completed. In cases of full refund due to worker fault, the platform fee is also refunded to the client.
10. Fraudulent Refund Requests
Filing false or fraudulent refund claims is a violation of our Terms & Conditions. Users found to be abusing the dispute or refund system will have their accounts permanently suspended.
